An Ode to Patti & Robert

During my trip to New York, I organized a fashion shoot in ode to my idol Patti Smith and her dear friend and once lover Robert Mapplethorpe. I have always been inspired by Patti's confident style, constant energy and pure genius.

Robert Mapplethorpe was and always will be a huge influence on who Patti is as an artist and modern day icon. Their friendship is celebrated and revered for its creativity and passion, the ultimate kindred spirits. Patti Smith recently wrote an amazing book Just Kids that explores her time with Robert. We shot in a gorgeous home in Chelsea and then headed to the Chelsea Hotel; home to Patti and Robert during the late 60's and early 70's.

The crew worked tirelessly and with incredible enthusiasm. Stylist Katharine Polk produced the most amazing collection of gowns, shoes and magically.. a scarf designed by Mapplethorpe !! It was really amazing day that I will not forget!

Launch of Mad Men in Time Square NY. Fashion

As a fan of HBO's series Mad Men, I was excited to be in Time Square for the Launch of the much anticipated Season 4. To celebrate the release, HBO invited fans to dress up taking inspiration from the much desired fashion featured in the show. Here are my highlights.

COCOROSIE - LEMONADE SHOOT

Director Emma Freeman, from Melbourne was commissioned to produce and direct the new video clip for CocoRosie's new song Lemonade.

I was blessed to be a part of this mammoth project, shooting stills and additional footage.

The clip was shot on a rather cold day in April at Labassa, an eerie mansion in Windsor.

Fowlers Flowers

Fowlers Flowers florist has recently opened its doors to the world! Fowlers Flowers is situated in Clifton Hill, next door to my favorite coffee shop, Mixed Business. We did some shots last week.
So next Saturday morning treat yourself to a coffee and a glorious bouquet.

Bound and Happy

This is a shoot I did a year ago. It has sat in the digital dungeon waiting for some love on the printed page. Now we have it, in a 6 pager in the new mag Bound. The stars are Mia and Lizzie. Make-Up & Hair: brilliant Claire Leighton, Styling: Miss Emma-Lou Griffin.

Shot on a cold and very dark night on the banks of the Merri Creek, Clifton Hill.

This is a recent shoot I did for Cherrie Magazine. We shot down at Victoria Park (the old home to the Collingwood Football team). Featured is the divine Sarah @ Maverick Model Management & Holly @ Cameron's.

DUMBO FEATHER MAGAZINE

Its still really exciting to see my work printed on hardcopy pages in magazines. This spread is in the beautifully crafted Dumbo Feather Magazine, current issue 23. The shoot features the wonderful subject Martin Hughes, co-founder of publishing company Affirm Press. We spent a few hours at his house in Northcote; drinking coffee, taking photos, and playing with his gorgeous twin girls!
