Highlights of Meredith and Golden Plains Music Festivals

Golden Plains Music Festival 2011 is quickly approaching, celebrating it's 5th Birthday this year with Joanna Newsom, The Hold Steady, Belle & Sebastian, Wavves and Best Coast among others.

In December last year GP's bigger sister, The Meredith Music Festival celebrated her 20th Birthday. What a better time to reflect back on my favorite photographic moments captured in the famous "supernatural" amphitheatre.

I have been one of the official photographers for Meredith 2005-2007 & Golden Plains 2007-present. During this time I have had so many highlights seen on and off the stage. Here are some of my favorite photographs from my 7 years documenting all the happenings and adventures had in the special town of Meredith.

I had the best day yesterday. Shooting musicians and artists is sometimes incredibly stressful and painful because their lovely healthy egos and insecurities can get in the way of a collaboration. Yesterday we shot Andrew W.K. It was a pleasure and so easy to work with someone who is still so inspired and gives his all.. Just as he does in his live show.

Happy Mondays _ Beach House

I cannot believe this was my first Happy Mondays gig! Shame on me. Melbourne is indeed a lucky city. To have a venue like the Rooftop Bar and combine it with the clever people at Happy Mondays we are truly blessed. As the sunsets we drink our ciders and eat our Raph burgers made by the ever gorgeous BeatBox Kitchen ( how did they get that on the rooftop?). Watching the lights turn on in the streets below and the lights switch off in the buildings surrounding you, the sounds of Beach House make it a truly special moment and prompts me to love this City just a little bit more.

Behind the Scenes - Lenko

Last week I shot the summer look-book and campaign for Melbourne label Lenko. We shot at Dana Lenko's Grandparents house, which sadly will soon be demolished and replaced with uninspiring apartments. The house was so perfect for a shoot, providing endless location options from classic textured wallpapers, wood veneer, light filled windows, overgrown gardens and one velvet green couch. I love shooting on location as it's always my first inspiration.
