No Magazine

Please do yourself a favor and go find a copy of the NZ magazine NO. It's so good. A magazine that you will want to put in your "keep-forever-box".
In this digital age i find is so enjoyable picking up a product made of beautiful stock, skillful design and full of interesting interviews and yes yes PHOTOGRAPHS! I'm a proud traditionalist.

I did a little portrait for this issue of No. It features a couple new to Melbourne the divine John & Bridget .

The Brunettes for Yen Magazine

I was lucky to spend a lovely morning shopping with the sweet-as-pie band The Brunettes. I had to shoot a photo story for Yen Magazine. Check it out on a news stand soon. Jan Edition. We had fun dressing up and walking up & down Crown Street.

NEw Shoots aHoy

It's been a super busy month in the land of photography. December is the land of events, gatherings and last minute publicity shoots . Here are some small snippets.

Recently I teamed up with the amazing stylist Hayley Hughes for this fashion spread.

Last week I did an awesome shoot with the very talented Yana Alana. The shoot is inspired by the film Paper Moon and the old photo studios from the 1950's. The very talented Esther Justin built this moon! Please check out Yana Alana's show at 2010 Midsumma Festival.

The mentioned blog below as kept me rather busy with all things Pure.. The guys at Boag's are throwing a party so please come along:

Pure Goodness

I have been selected as one of 6 photographers from around Australia to produce a photo blog for Life Lounge & Boags beer.

The photographs are inspired by the word Pure. It's an awesome brief and I have lots of pics to upload in the coming weeks. It's worth having a peek.

Some Publication News

Today in the mail I received a copy of the book Media and Communications in Australia, published by Allen&Uwin. I was commissioned last year to produce 18 photographs to accompany each chapter of this book. The brief was open to my interpretation of each chapter title; such as REPRESENTATION AND TEXTUAL ANALYSIS! A fantastic brief for a photographer. My cat Banjo made it in!

Also in publishing news, my shot from the Meredith Music Festival was used in the amazingly cute and certainly "keep for ever" book PHOTO ALBUM edited by the lovely girls at FRANKIE magazine.

A Teenage Love Letter

Today I shot a fashion spread inspired by teenage love letters and magic portals. My planned location was Victoria Park, an AFL football oval with amazing colour tones and textured signage. BUT the Bureau of Meteorology sadly informed me that today's weather was to be 35 degrees...and with no budget for trailers or fans, it would have been almost impossible to shoot outdoors. With a last minute change, we shot at my house with the air con B for Blasting. What an A+ decision.

Stylist Hayley Hughes delivered a great parade of clothing including the always surprising Romance Was Born and other fantastic labels such as Limedrop and Karen Walker. I had some real fun with shooting only available light. A slightly daunting process but I managed to keep it simple.

Thanks to our team:
Stylist: Hayley Hughes, MUA: Nyree Leather, Model: Sally @ Giant, Assistant: Louisa and one very bad cat: Banjo.

Images to be on a mag stand near you soon.
