A great article on copyright and contracts in relation to shooting musicians was featured on The Vine. The article was perfectly timed.
At Golden Plain's this year I was handing a contract from an overseas artist requesting that:
1.THE BAND WILL OWE COPYRIGHT TO ALL MY PHOTOGRAPHS
2.THAT THE BAND MUST APPROVE OF ALL IMAGES USED
3. THE LIST WENT ON!
Did I agree or sign this contract? NO WAY.. I went and had a coffee instead and sadly the band had a very empty photo-pit.
